Description
Enjoy the irresistible combination of sweet peaches and tangy lemon in this Peach Lemonade, a refreshing drink that’s sure to become a favorite for its delightful flavor and thirst-quenching properties.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 ripe peaches, pitted and sliced
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4–5 lemons)
- 3/4 cup sugar, adjust to taste
- 4 cups water, divided
- Ice cubes, for serving
- Mint leaves or peach slices, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a blender, combine the peach slices with 1 cup of water. Blend until the mixture is smooth.
- Pour the peach puree through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher, pressing on the solids to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the solids.
- In a small saucepan, combine the sugar with 1 cup of water. Heat over medium heat, stirring, until the sugar has completely dissolved to make a simple syrup. Allow the syrup to cool slightly.
- Add the freshly squeezed lemon juice and simple syrup to the peach puree in the pitcher. Stir well to combine.
- Add the remaining 2 cups of water to the pitcher and stir. Taste and adjust the sweetness by adding more sugar if desired. If the lemonade is too sweet, add a little more lemon juice.
- Refrigerate the peach lemonade until it’s thoroughly chilled. Serve over ice cubes in glasses.
- Garnish with mint leaves or fresh peach slices if desired.
Notes
- Peach Puree: For a smoother texture, blend the peaches into a fine puree and strain to remove any pulp or skin bits before adding to the lemonade.
- Lemon Varieties: Experiment with different types of lemons (like Meyer lemons) for varying levels of tartness and sweetness.
- Chill Time: Allow your peach lemonade to chill in the fridge for at least an hour before serving; this enhances the flavors and provides maximum refreshment.
- Decorative Touches: Garnish your lemonade with peach slices, lemon wheels, or fresh herbs to make it visually appealing and even more inviting.
- Sweetness Adjustment: Taste your lemonade before chilling and adjust the sweetness if necessary; the natural sweetness of peaches can vary.
