Description

This Asian-Style Ground Beef Spaghetti combines the comforting textures of spaghetti with the bold flavors of Asian cuisine, resulting in a unique and delicious fusion dish. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner that packs a flavorful punch!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces spaghetti
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
  • 3 green onions, sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped (optional, for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook Spaghetti: Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Brown the Beef: In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned and crumbly. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. Add Aromatics: Add the minced garlic and ginger to the skillet with the beef. Cook for about 1 minute, or until fragrant.
  4. Sauce: In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and red pepper flakes. Pour this mixture over the beef in the skillet. Stir well to combine.
  5. Combine with Spaghetti: Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet with the beef and sauce. Toss everything together over medium heat until the spaghetti is well coated and heated through.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat and transfer to a serving dish. Garnish with sliced green onions, chopped cilantro, and sesame seeds. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Cooking Pasta: Make sure to cook the spaghetti until it’s just al dente; it will absorb more flavor when tossed with the sauce.
  • Sauce Consistency: If the sauce is too thick, a splash of pasta water can help to thin it and make it more manageable to mix with the spaghetti and beef.
  • Garnishes: Finish the dish with fresh herbs like cilantro or green onions, and a sprinkle of sesame seeds for an extra layer of flavor and texture.
